Basil-Lettuce Leaf (Ob cripsum) plants grow 18-24” tall. They produce large 3-6” long leaves that look similar to lettuce leaves in their size and crinkled texture. Both the flavor and the scent of these leaves is exquisite, and has a sweet taste with a more subtle level of spice than other basils.

Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the final frost in areas with a cooler spring, and directly outside in warm areas after the final frost of the season. These leaves are ready to be harvested by plucking them off the plant when they reach full size, or after 75 days. Leaves are great in sandwiches, caprese salad, used to make pesto, or dried.
